SW 72 NE MANACCAN

Kennels. Probably circa late C19 - early C20. Rock-faced shale and granite brought
to course, granite sills and lintels. Scantle slate roofs with stone chimneys over
rear gable ends of cross wings and shaped wooden barge boards with foils and pierced
roundels to front gable ends.
U shaped plan 3 identical exercise pens within the U.
Single storey symmetrical 1:3:1 bay north-west front. Central bays each with central
doorway with divided stable-type ledged doors. Projecting wings left and right
panes.
Interior not inspected.
Three identical pens to front with low granite coped partition and front walls
surmounted by wrought iron railings. The bars are looped into double round arched
heads, (presumably to prevent damage to any dog trying to scramble out). Doorways
have low iron wicket gates.
