GV II

Former manor house, now divided into 2 houses. Possible C17, but appears to be

killas rubble, some dressed stone part render to Manor Cottage. Various roof
materials. Some dry Delabole slate; mostly asbestos slate hipped roof on Manor

extension to front wing. Rubble stacks: over rear wall towards left over party
wall towards right and over right-hand wall of Manor Cottage. Brick chimney over
front gable end (on the left).
Plan: Irregular plan: principal 2-room C18 (or possibly older) range has C18
parlour wing in front of the left-hand room and a 2-room plan C18 range at right
angles on higher ground at the right-hand end, projecting at both front and rear;
a late C18 or early C19 1-room plan service cottage in front of the parlour wing
and some C20 extensions behind the right-hand side. There is said to be a tunnel
leading from The Manor House to the Miners Arms (qv).
Exterior: 2 storeys. Irregular elevations to Manor House and to its front wing.
Front of Manor House has original C18 flat arches over ground floor openings: door-
way on the left and window on the right. C20 6-panel door, C20 rebuilt gable over
right-hand window. C20 windows. 2-window rear has C20 door and windows. Stepped
