GV II
Inn. C18 timber-framed with C20 pargetting, and painted brick. C20 plain
tiled roof with rectangular planned ridge stack to left of centre, and stack
behind the ridge. Brick and weatherboarded back range to east with
corrugated iron roof. Two storeys with rear outshut and cellar. Doorway to
left of centre with stone step, and flat canopy on shaped wooden brackets;
four raised - and fielded - panelled door. Three sixteen-paned flush-framed
hung sash windows rebated for shutters and three similar smaller first floor
windows. Wrought iron bracket for inn sign. The Black Horse Inn was
recorded in 1776 (VCH).
