House. Late C17, stripped to frame, renovated, and N crosswing built
1985-6. Timber frame on brick sill, weatherboarded and thatched. A
small 1 1/2-storeys, 3 bays house set back from road a little, facing W.
Large rectangular N crosswing projects to front and rear. Older part has
door into N bay which has a swept dormer over partition with middle bay,
one casement window to middle and S bay. Frame of thin timbers, jowled
posts. Wider middle bay and S bay have axial floor beams, N bay has
axial joists only. Long straight tension braces in walls. Clasped purlin
roof structure in trusses with collars. Inspected when stripped to
frame but thatched and weatherboarded when originally listed.
