Barn, now Scout Hut. C18, altered mid-late C20. Timber frame clad in weather-
board; plain tile roof. 4 bays. Gabled midstray to bay 2 now with brick and
rubble plinth, board door and 6-pane window over. Half-hipped roof. Two 4-pane
windows in gable of left return. Single-storey brick lean-to addition on left
return and addition projecting on left side of barn are not of special
interest. Interior: timber frame has curved braces to tie-beams and raking
struts.
The barn is on the site of the former manorial farm (J Janaway pers. comm.).
In 1915 H Thackeray Turner of Westbrook (Westbrook Road q.v.) established a
trust to administer this property which was to be a club 'to benefit the moral,
social or intellectual' life of the parish (Bott, p.26).
