Wall and summer house. 1885. By Thomas Cotman for the Cobbold family. Red brick with
diapering and decorative courses and massive brick ridge coping. At intervals octagonal piers with
domed tops with spiral moulded finials (some partly gone).. The wall runs from the former
Felixstowe College main entrance block (not included) along Maybush Lane and includes a
gateway with wrought-iron gate and brickwork panels either side with stylised vases of flowers.
Further on it turns and borders the former walled garden to an octagonal summer house with
shaped roof and three open sides supported on stone Tuscan columns. The wall beyond the
summer house, now partly incorporated into C20 buildings, is not of special architectural or
historic interest.
