A Lobby-Entrance type farmhouse. C17 and later. Colour-washed brick and a
C19 gault brick facade. Black pantiled roof. 2 storeys with attic.
6 bays of 2 and 3-light casements with glazing bars beneath rendered skew-
back arches with keystones. One canted bay with French windows and sashes
with glazing bars. C18 stair outshut to rear with curved gable and a
flat-hooded doorcase with plain consoles, a pulvinated frieze and a raised
and fielded panelled door. Steep-pitched roof hipped to one end in the
C18 or Cl9. Off-centre axial stalk with 3 original angled shafts with
later gault brick shafts to sides. Single dormer to rear. Original wind-
ing stair from first floor to attic only. Roof of 8 principal trusses
with collars and butt-purlins. Some fine ovolo-moulded beams with
elaborate stops at first floor.
