Hatchment to the wife of a Calthorpe Blofeld. He still lived (the left hand side background is white). The Blofeld crest is in the first and third quarters. The Calthorpe (modern) crest is in the second quarter (Chequy or and azure, a fess ermine). An ancient Calthorpe crest is in the fourth quarter (Ermine a maunch gules). The deceased wife is represented by an inescutcheon of a black sheep, standing on a natural coloured hill (a hill proper) and holding a flag of St George. (Photo Apr 2007).
