Includes: Nos.2 AND 4 LANDS LANE.
Shops, restaurant. Early C20. Terracotta, slate roof. Corner
site with Lands Lane. A 3-window bay to corner (No.9), paired
windows to 1- and 3-bay facades to Commercial Street and Lands
Lane; 3 storeys and attics. In Free Classical style using the
terracotta moulded detailing.
Ground floor altered but retaining original divisions and
round-arched entry to upper floors, right. First floor: canted
bay window to corner, remaining windows have segmental
voussoired arches, original 2-light frames; 2nd floor: mullion
and transom and single-light windows, panels between have
ornate shields; segmental pilasters between windows rise to
modillion eaves cornice (missing over corner bay), balustraded
parapet and cone-shaped pinnacles fronting pedimented dormers;
bays 1 and 3 of Lands Lane frontage have paired sashes and
terracotta ornament with pinnacles.
