Offices. c1900. Probably by WH Thorp in partnership with
George F Danby. Red brick, stone dressings, slate roof.
Renaissance Revival style matching the Methodist Chapel to
which it is attached.
Banded rustication, attached balustrade and Corinthian
columns; 3 storeys, 5 bays, bay 1 is a curved wall with 2 and
3-light windows, bay 2 has a tall entrance with panelled
double doors, stone panel over with raised letters: 'OXFORD
CHAMBERS', wrought-iron scrolled panel in semicircular
overlight and deep hollow chamfered surround; it is surmounted
by a 1-stage tower with round-headed windows, small
balustraded balconies and parapet with ball finials and tall
cupola; attic storey in pedimented gable bay 4. Flat-arched
windows apart from a circular window at 3rd storey, bay 2, and
a Diocletian window to attic.
