House, now bank, with area railings. 1790 with late C20
restoration. By William Lawrance. Red brick, Flemish bond,
slate roof, wrought-iron railings. 3 storeys and basement, 5
first-floor windows, spaced 2:1:2. Central panelled doors and
fanlight in a fine wooden surround with jambs imitating
rusticated stonework, fluted attached columns and segmental
open pediment; under the pediment stucco decoration with lion
rampant guardant within a wreath. Sashes with restored glazing
bars, plain stone sills and wedge lintels.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Railings: pointed bud finials.
In 1839 the house was occupied by Peter Fairbairn, engineer,
later mayor of Leeds.
