Wall and gate piers to Grosvenor Park from Billy Hobby's Well
(qv) east, north along Grosvenor Park Terrace and Dee Lane and
west along The Headlands. 1865-67. By John Douglas at the
expense of the 2nd Marquis of Westminster. For Chester City
Council. Squared snecked sandstone rubble and granite. Plinth
and replaced railings from Billy Hobby's Well to south-east
gateway which has 2 chamfered piers diminishing to
octagonal-section blunt-pointed caps; squared snecked
sandstone rubble retaining wall 2m high between south-west
gateway and inserted gateway at junction of The Headlands with
Dee Lane; similar wall to The Headlands, stepping up with the
slope of the alley towards the main park gateway (qv).
