Town house. Origin probably C17, altered and added to early
and late C18. By leaseholder from Dean and Chapter of Chester
Cathedral. Brown brick, Flemish bond to front; grey slate
roofs.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys of 3 windows to the almost symmetrical
front. Painted stone plinth; door of 6 fielded panels with
plain overlight in painted stone case with pilasters
overlapping architrave, plain frieze and modillion cornice.
Windows have painted stone sills and wedge lintels to flush
sashes, 2 of 16 panes to first storey, 3 of 16 panes to second
storey and 3 of 8 panes to third storey, replaced and horned;
painted stone eaves cornice.
The east side is of irregular bond brickwork, probably in part
C17. A diminishing projecting gable stack; one replaced flush
12-pane sash per storey; plinth of squared rubble sandstone;
flush sandstone quoins to north-east corner of older part;
brick rear wing has replaced 12-pane horned sash to first
storey, a Gothick-arched fixed light with 'intersecting
tracery' glazing bars to second storey and a replaced 9-pane
sash to the third storey.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but likely to have features of
interest.
