Tannery. Late C19. Brick in English bond with stone and red
brick dressings; black brick plinth. Roof parapeted. Gothic
Revival style.
5 storeys over basement. 7-window range, the elevation
asymmetrically arranged about a large, segmental-arched
carriageway in the 3rd- and 4th-window ranges. Springing band
of diaperwork links ground-floor openings and recesses. All
openings and recesses are segmental-arched unless otherwise
noted. To the left cusped roundel set in recess.
At the left party wall a flat-arched entrance set in high
recess which was originally a loading bay similar to that
which forms the 6th-window range. All openings in these
loading bays are flat-arched, those in the first are later
insertions. The 3rd- and 4th-window ranges are coupled, the
windows sharing a colonnette. Keyed lintels to all original
windows, those on the top floor intersecting the bracketed
cornice. Sill bands of geometric patterns to 2nd through 4th
floors.
The lower related buildings to the yard at the rear are 3
storeys with segmental-arched windows on a roughly L-shaped
plan.
