Gates, piers and railings to cemetery.1928-1929. Stone with railings and gates of metal with coats of arms.
Single carriageway framed by pair of piers, square in plan, with square capstones topped by spheres; the faces of piers relieved by recessed panel ornamented by a section of cornice block just below moulded capstone. To either side of carriageway piers another pier of identical design, which frames a pedestrian walkway.
Extending from east pier is a single storey watch house, square in plan, to which is attached a pier similar to those already noted. Gates and railings with plain uprights, frieze along top and dado rail below.
The gates, piers and railings are included for their group value, and complete the ensemble formed by the Waiting Room, Lodge and Mortuary Chapels (qqv) of Camberwell New Cemetery.
