GV II

Semi-detached house. Mid C18, refronted early C20 in Georgian
style. Multi-coloured stock brick with brick band at 1st floor
level. 3 storeys and basement. 2 windows. Architraved doorway
with bracketed hood. Gauged brick flat arches to C20 flush
framed sashes; 1st floor arches rusticated, 2nd floor with
moulded key blocks. Parapet. INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: this house appears in Ford Maddox Brown's
painting "Work", 1852, inspired by seeing navvies at work on
Hampstead's main drainage.
