Five old lamps (at corner of Botanic
Road and Cambridge Road))

Lamp post. Probably late C19 or early C20; restored.
Cast-iron. It has a pedestal which is square at the base but
tapered and chamfered to become octagonal at the top; close
horizontal ribbing. Slender octagonal shaft with a flared neck
and octagonal ring cap; 4 curved brackets carrying a glazed
square lantern with swept roof and finial.
One of a set of 5 such lamp posts round the junction of
Botanic Road and Cambridge Road.
