Pair of gate piers. Formerly at gateway to churchyard of
Church of St Cuthbert (qv); relocated 1935. Probably c1730-40.
Dressed sandstone. Approx. 0.5m square in section, and approx.
3m high, with moulded bases and very prominent moulded
cornices surmounted by gadrooned flaming urn finials.
Forms group with Hesketh Arms, Botanic Road to right (qv).
