GV II

House, now 2 flats. Probably mid to later C18; altered. Scored
render on brick, composition tile roof (except lean-to at left
end which has stone slates). Double-depth double-fronted plan,
plus large lean-to at left end.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range (probably
formerly 2). Almost symmetrical (except for the lean-to).
Doorway off-set to the right, enlarged and altered in C19,
with quoined surround and floating hoodmould, panelled and
glazed door and plain overlight; 2 8/8 unhorned sashes on each
floor, all with raised sills, and a narrow one-light fixed
window over the doorway (probably inserted). Extruded chimneys
at both gables.
Almost full-height lean-to with small-paned 2-light casement
window at ground floor.
The right-hand return wall has two 2-light sliding sash attic
windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but believed to be remodelled.
Forms group with Nos 29-31A Botanic Road (qv) next but one to
the left.
