Row of 6 houses. Probably late C18; altered. Nos 8 & 10 of red
brick in English garden wall bond (5 plus one courses), Nos 4
& 6 to the right covered with scored stucco and Nos 12 & 14 to
the left roughcast, both pairs painted white; graduated slate
roof. Linear double-depth plan at right-angles to the lane,
each house single-fronted.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 6-window range. Nos 4-10 have doorways to
the right, Nos 12 & 14 to the left, all with various C20
porches but No.6 has a glazed lean-to covering both the
doorway and the window (the latter greatly enlarged).
At ground floor Nos 8 & 12 have segmental-headed 3-light
sliding sashed windows (No.8 with horizontal glazing bars but
No.12 with diamond leading), and all the others have altered
windows (No.4 has a small C20 3-sided bow). At first floor all
except No.14 have segmental-headed 2-light windows (sliding
sashes at Nos 8, 10 & 12, casements at Nos 4 & 6); No.14 has a
3-light sliding sash with diamond leading. 3 ridge chimneys.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms a group with Nos 3 & 5 (qv), No.7 (qv) and No.9 (qv) all
on opposite side of lane.
