GV II

House now flats and attached railings. c1832, with later
additions and alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with painted
stucco front facade, concealed roof, cast-iron verandah and
railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 3 first-floor windows, left
bay projects to full height. Rustication to ground floor.
Entrance to left: step to part-glazed door with sidelights and
divided overlight. Two 1/1 sashes in plain reveals and with
sills. First-floor band interrupted by verandah. First floor
has 1/1 sash, then two 10-pane French windows in plain
reveals. Second floor: 1/1 sash; two 6/6 sashes, with plain
reveals and sills. Basement has part-glazed door, 2/2 sash,
casement window, both in plain reveals, sills. Blocking
course, copings, end stacks. First floor has continuous
verandah with double-rod-and-anthemion motif balustrade.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet area railings with gate and to
sides of steps.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Dale Street was laid out c1832, the east side
was built by 1834.
