House now flats and attached railings. c1832, with later
additions and alterations including extension to rear.
Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco to front facade,
cement-tile roof and cast-iron railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 4 first-floor windows,
canted bay to left to full height. Horizontal rustication to
ground floor. Entrance: 4 steps to 4-panel, part-glazed door
with sidelights and divided, basket-arched overlight.
Projecting porch has solid sides and 2 Egyptian-style columns.
Frieze, cornice, blocking course.
Windows: 2/2 sashes to right and to centre of bay, 1/1 sash to
sides of bay to ground, first and second floors, all with
sills; plain reveals and moulded surrounds with keystones to
ground and first floor, roll-moulded surrounds to second
floor. Basement has 3/3 sash to centre and 2/2 sashes to sides
of bay. Anthemion cornice. Side stack.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet area railings, end posts with
anthemion finials and to sides of steps.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Dale Street was laid out c1832, the east side
was built by 1834.
