Pair of semi-detached houses and attached railings. c1838 with
later alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco
front facade, Welsh slate roof and cast-iron railings.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with basement to right, 4 first-floor
windows. End pilaster strips to full height.
First floor: 6/6 sashes in plain reveals and with sills.
Ground floor: pair of central entrances, 5 steps to 3-panel,
part-glazed doors with overlights with decorative glazing in
plain reveals, with combined architrave of pilaster strips
with frieze and cornice. To either side a canted bay: 6/6
between 2/2 sashes with fielded pilasters, frieze and cornice.
Basement to right has narrow lights. Narrow frieze and low
parapet to left. End stacks, taller to left and with cornice.
Raised ridge between houses.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to left sides of steps have
spear-head finials.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Leam Terrace was laid out c1828-1836 and
almost completely built as far as Willes Road by 1841.
Forms an architectural group with nos 68 and 74 Leam Terrace
(qv) and No.1 Lower Leam Street (qv).
