2 houses, now offices. Numbered right to left, described left
to right. c1834-1840, with later additions and alterations.
Reddish-brown brick with painted stucco front facade and
stucco return, and Welsh slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 8 first-floor windows and central tall
carriage arch. Plinth. Full-height Tuscan pilasters to ends
and between windows, those to centre are wider and have
recessed panels. Central entrance a tall, cambered carriage
arch with double plank doors containing pedestrian door. First
floor: 2 outer 2/4 sashes with six 3/6 sashes between, all
with horns. Ground floor: 2 outer 4/4 sashes and four 6/6
sashes between, all in plain reveals and with sills. Entrances
(No.22) below third window: 3 steps to 4-panel door with
overlight with decorative glazing in fielded-panel reveals,
and (No.18) below seventh window: step to 4-panel door with
overlight in plain reveals, both within Tuscan pilastered
surrounds with architrave, frieze and cornice. Central
pediment.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Russell Street was laid out c1834-1840.
