railings to Nos 4, 6 and 8

GV II

Boundary wall, gate piers and railings. Pinkish-red brick with
ashlar and Coade stone dressings with cast-iron railings.
c1879. By George Gilbert Scott junior. L-shaped on plan in 4
lengths of 15, 12 and 12 metres, with 20 metres to return. Low
wall with banded piers and taller gate-piers. Piers have
moulded copings, gate-piers surmounted by small obelisks on
scrolls. Railings have bars, some surmounted by cresting.
Forms an architectural group with Nos 4, 6 and 8 St Mark's
Road (former vicarage) and St Mark's Church, Rugby Road (qqv).
