Public house. c1826, with later additions and alterations.
Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facade and concealed
roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 2 first-floor windows. Horizontal
rustication to ground floor. Quoins to first floor.
First floor: moulded band. 8/8 sashes; second floor: 4/8
sashes, all in plain reveals and with sills.
Off-centre entrance a part-glazed, panelled door with
overlight in tooled surround, within extensive remains of
probably original frontage.
Plate-glass windows with aprons to either side of door with
3-pane overlights and with pilaster strips between, and
consoles with lion masks surmounted by frieze and cornice.
Otherwise, large plate-glass window with side-lights, apron
and 5-pane overlight; and narrower plate-glass window with
apron and overlight; continuous frieze and small, central
pediment. Frieze, cornice, low parapet, copings, end stacks.
Left return: quoins; horizontal rustication to ground floor.
First-floor band; 4 openings, alternately 6/6 and blind;
second floor has blind openings.
End and off-centre entrances are part-glazed doors, that to
off-centre between side-lights and with overlight, tooled
surround and cornice. Frieze, low parapet, copings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Warwick Street was laid out 1822-1826.
