Lodge to Moreton Hall

GV II

Lodge to left side of drive. c1906. By WH Romaine-Walker.
Brick with ashlar dressings; hipped tile roof with brick
central valley stack with fillet and cap. Square plan with
projection to right return.
EXTERIOR: single-storey with attic. Brick quoin strips and top
timber modillioned cornice; narrow section to left end breaks
back. Entrance to right return in recessed porch to angle has
rubbed brick flat arch with key block over fanlight to 4-panel
door; porch has Ionic column to angle and 2 Ionic pilasters,
with entablature. 2 central windows have rubbed brick flat
arches over 2-light small-paned casements; flat-roofed dormer
has cornice with central segmental pediment over 4-light
casement; tile-hung sides.
Right return has 2 similar windows and dormer, with re-entrant
porch to each side, that to right has no entrance. Rear
similar to front.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
