GV II

Gate pier, wall and piers. Early C19, ball finials believed to
be C20 replacements. Sandstone ashlar. Gate pier with stretch
of balustraded wall to north for approx. 12m, then pier,
further stretch of coped wall curved on plan for approx. 4m,
and end pier.
Wall approx. 1.5m high; balustrade has bulbous balusters on
shaped plinth and with cambered copings; piers (alike) have
ovolo-moulded plinth, shaft square on plan surmounted by
cornice, gate pier has further plinth surmounted by ball
finial.
Original piers and wall to former Edstone Hall (now
demolished). Forms a group with Edstone Lodge Gate pier, Wall
and Pier (south) (qv) and Edstone Lodge (qv).
