House. C18 with later alterations. Painted brick; gabled Welsh slate roof with red ridge tiles and brick end stack. Two-unit plan.

EXTERIOR: two storeys; two-window range. Entrance to right end has architrave to half-glazed panelled door; renewed canted bay window with small-paned glazing to left. First floor has windows with two-light small-paned casements. 1748 milestone (qv) set in front wall to left. Rear gabled wing with small-paned casements.
INTERIOR: not inspected.

SUBSIDARY FEATURES: the milestone is attached to the house. Dated 1748. Ashlar painted gloss black within a brick surround. Inscribed: FROM LONDON/ CII MILES/ FROM STRATFORD/ VIII/ TO BIRMINGHAM/ XIV/ 1748.

The High Street is part of the former main road between Stratford-on Avon and Birmingham. The cottage was listed separately on 02/08/72.
