Farmhouse, now house. C16 and C17 with C20 alterations and
restorations. Converted C19 outbuilding. Timber-frame with
plastered infill on rubble plinth; tile roof with squat rubble
stacks, one to front and one to rear of ridge. 3-unit plan
with cross-wing to right and lower outbuilding to left end.
EXTERIOR: entrance to right of centre has C20 gabled rubble
porch and inner wide-boarded door. Left end has one blocked
2-light window to each floor; other windows have C20 leaded
casements: 3-light casements to each floor left of centre; C20
2-light casement over entrance; wing has blocked entrance to
left return, and 1:3:1-light hipped bay window. First-floor
window with 3-light casement and 2-light attic casement.
Right return has plastered brick catslide outshut.
Left return has 2-light casements and attached converted range
with modillioned brick cornice over applied timber-framing,
entrance and 3 C20 gabled dormers. Close-studded
timber-framing to ground floor with square framing above.
Rear has French window to left end and 2 lean-to brick
outshuts; large C20 gabled dormer.
INTERIOR: noted as having ashlar fireplaces and reported as
having pigeon loft.
The house is on a moated site.
