Kitchen garden pavilion and walls 400 metres south-west of Court of Hill
(Formerly Listed as: Garden House or dovecot and portico at Court of Hill)

Garden house or pavilion and garden walls of walled kitchen
garden separated from Court of Hill (qv) by B4214 road. C18.
Brick with ashlar portico. Hipped slate roof to rear. Walls
form quadrangle enclosing the garden with pavilion the focus
along the uphill side and an opposing garden gateway along the
downhill side.
EXTERIOR: south-west front approached by flight of stone steps
up to portico which has a pair of Roman Doric columns flanked
by pilasters, plain entablature and pediment with shallow
modillioned cornices. Entrance to rear with 4-panelled door
set in panelled reveals.
INTERIOR: modillioned plaster cornices and boarded dado.
Garden walls: brick with moulded brick copings with plain
buttresses with ashlar coping. Brick segmental-arched gateway
openings in each side wall with plain boarded doors. Gateway
opposite pavilion with brick piers surmounted by ball finials.
