BITTERLEY

SO57NE Bitterley House
482-1/6/68

GV II

House. Late C18. Brick, with brick-coped gables and dentil
eaves. Plain-tile roof. Projecting brick gable-end stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey and attic. 3-window range facade of C20
casements with C18 central doorway. Chamfered door frame with
6-panelled door with raised fielded-panels and plain double
top light. Windows with brick segmental arches and flat arches
to centre. 2 projecting tiled dormers with C20 casements.
Brick storey bands. 2-storey bay to right with 3-light
casement at first floor and renewed 2-light casement at ground
floor. Right return side with rubble ground floor with C20
casement. Left return side: 2-light casement at first floor
with attic roundel. Rear: mostly covered by 2-storey late C19
rear wing with C20 lean-to, and rear range of stone and
weatherboarded outbuildings.
