Town house. Dated 1753 on rainwater head; altered. Handmade
red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone plinth and
dressings, slate roof. Double-depth double-fronted plan.
Georgian. 3 storeys and 3 windows, symmetrical; with a
chamfered plinth up to ground-floor sill level, and a
modillioned cornice. Central round-headed doorway with gauged
brick head, set-in panelled wooden doorcase, panelled door and
fanlight with radiating glazing bars (all this joinery
apparently renewed). Sashed windows of 12 panes at ground
floor and 1st floor, 9 panes at 2nd floor, all with raised
sills and large wedge lintels with keystones. Lead downspout
to left of centre with moulded rainwater head lettered "1753 /
RG". Cut-down chimneys at both gables. Right-hand gable wall
linked to No.136 (qv) by screen wall with archway belonging to
that house. Rear altered.
INTERIOR apparently altered and in poor condition.
Unoccupied at the time of inspection (July 1992). Forms group
with No.136 (qv), and No.138 (qv).
