St Andrew's Wharf "A" Warehouse

GV II

Warehouse, now flats. c1850-60, rebuilt C20. Fire-gutted and
rebuilt behind (partly rebuilt) facade with similar dockside
elevation, rebuilt as replica of original. Stock brick with
parapet rebuilt as raised, flat topped gable.
7 storeys, 5 bays with ground floor segmental-arched
entrances, segmental-arched recesses rising from 1st to 5th
and 6th floors containing windows and hatch ranks, the central
3 bays rising a storey higher. Segmental-headed windows in
central and outer bays flanking 2 hatch ranks, now adapted as
balconies.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Now part of Java Wharf residential development. Backs onto St
Saviour's Wharf and has good group value with other warehouses
between St Saviour's Dock and Shad Thames (qqv).
