Group of 4 chest tombs approx 3-12
metres N of north entrance of Abbey
Church

GV II

Group of 4 chest tombs, including Wilson tomb. Late C18 and
early C19. Of ashlar, rectangular on plan. (i) Commemorates
William, son of Francis and Eliza, d.1782, with decorative
inscription panels incorporating heads and wings of angels;
(ii) commemorates Ann Marton, d.1839, and has
plinth and heavily-moulded cornice; (iii) commemorates ?
Spencer, d.1806, and has panels decorated with drapes and
fluting and circular inscription panels at ends; (iv)
commemorates members of the Wilson family, from 1764, and has
2 inserted inscription panels, urned ends, and further
inscription slab on top.
