Pair of semi-detached villas and attached railings. c1830-50.
Stucco over brick with slate roof, tall stuccoed party-wall
and lateral stacks; iron railings.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basements, 6 first-floor windows.
Stucco detailing includes quoins to angles; tooled first-floor
band; tooled architraves to first-floor windows and sills on
feet to ground and first-floors; dentil cornice with modillion
brackets. 2/2 horizontal-pane sashes throughout, taller to
ground floor, all in plain reveals. Ground-floor windows
surmounted by dentil pedimented shutter boxes. End entrances,
flights of roll-edged steps to round-arched openings with
tooled heads on corbel brackets and with keystones, within are
recessed, panelled doors with sidelights and overlights.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery and plasterwork.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: outer row of arrowhead railings with
anthemions to standards to sides of steps, with shorter inner
stick balustrade.
Forms part of a good group of villas.
