Main lodge to Hinderton Hall (qv), now private house. c1856,
with C20 alteration. By Alfred Waterhouse. Rock-faced red
sandstone with ashlar dressings; steeply pitched green slate
roof with fishscale slates, stone coped gables and central
ridge stack of conjoined flues. Cruciform on plan.
EXTERIOR: single-storey, 3-bay entrance front: projecting
centre bay is gabled, left bay blank. Right bay has gabled
porch with C20 half-glazed door in trefoil-headed arch, blind
quatrefoil in the gable head and narrow lancets in the right
return. Left of porch is 4-light window in which the 2 centre
lights are angled and project. Left and right returns are
gabled and have 3-light mullioned and transomed windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
