GV II

House. Late C19 with later alteration. Coursed, tooled red
sandstone with yellow ashlar mullions, dressings and bands;
grey slate roof incorporating broad bands of fishscale slates;
blue tile ridge cresting and plain bargeboards to gables.
Prominent stone stacks with original tall pots. Tower has
pyramidal roof.
EXTERIOR: entrance front of 2-storey 2-bay centre range
between 2-storey gabled crosswings: single-storey porch in
re-entrant with right crosswing: at right end is an external
square tower. Porch has 6-panel door with glazed upper panels,
bolection moulded lower panels and rectangular overlight: 1/1
sash window at front and moulded stone cornice to flat roof.
Windows in crosswings are tripartite sashes on both floors,
those on first floor beneath 2-centred polychromatic relieving
arches. Otherwise windows are single 1/1 sashes beneath stone
lintels. Tower has blind lancet under 2-centred stone arch to
first floor.
Right return has 2-storey 2-window gabled wall with tower to
left.
Tower has 1/1 sash windows on both floors, detailed as on
entrance front. Gable wall has canted bay window on ground
floor right, 6/6 sash window in centre; similar to first floor
right and 1/1 sash to first floor centre.
Left return is blank.
INTERIOR: 4-panel doors, panelled window shutters and moulded
ceiling cornices.
