Gate piers to Mere Hall

GV II

Pair of gate piers. 1890. Stone with polished granite
dressings and bronze tablets, now painted. Chamfered stone
piers with recessed traceried panels and chamfered pyramidal
caps. Inscriptions record the establishment of the museum in
Mere Hall, and low relief tablets represent the symbol of the
municipality of Bolton.
