Originally 2 houses, now 3 shops and flat. c1830 with later
alterations, including c1970s ground-floor shop front at left
and c1880s shop front at right for Morris. Stucco over brick
with concealed roof and brick and stucco party-wall stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 4 first-floor windows. First floor scored
in imitation of ashlar. First-floor moulded sill band.
Crowning band and cornice (moulded at left, renewed at right),
low parapet, raised as shallow pediments to ends. Tooled
architraves to first-floor windows and with feet. First floor
has outer tripartite 6/6 between 2/2 sashes, otherwise 6/6
sashes. Ground floor at left has glazed shop front. To
off-centre right a glazed window with apron and part-glazed
entrance, both with fanlights and in tooled architraves with
keystones. At right a tiled shop front, bearing the name:
'MORRIS. FISHMONGER. POULTERER' to frieze. To shop entrance
and at ends are Corinthian-type pilasters with tiled insets
depicting poultry, fish and Classical figures. Cornice on
paired consoles. Entrance at left of glazed shop front a
4-panel door with overlight; off-centre left part-glazed shop
entrance.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
An interesting design exhibiting some Greek Revival influence
in the stele-shaped detail to the projecting end bays.
