House, now shop. c1780 with later alterations including those to shop front c1960s. Pinkish-red brick with stucco to ground floor and concealed roof. Three storeys, three first-floor windows. First and second floors have 6/1 sashes, all in plain reveals and with sills and flat arches of gauged brick, now painted. Ground floor retains horizontal rustication to ends, then continuous wide moulded architrave with central inscription tablet, first-floor band. Glazed shop front and two glazed doors. Coped parapet.

INTERIOR: ground floor altered, otherwise not inspected.

HISTORICAL NOTE: during the C18 Foregate Street was known as 'the mall' and Tymbs' Worcester Guide of 1802 notes, 'the Foregate Street itself, by being well paved and sufficiently broad to admit a full circulation of air seems to be generally resorted to as a fashionable promenade.'

Nos 1-6 (consecutive), Nos 57, 59-66 (consecutive) Foregate Street (qqv) form a significant group together with Berkeley's Hospital, Nos 11-15 (consecutive) and No.19 The Foregate (qqv).
