2 semi-detached houses. c1830-40 with later additions and
alterations. Brick with painted stucco dressings. 2-span slate
roof with parapeted gables and parapet to front elevation.
Pair of party-wall ridge stacks with oversailing detail and
pots.
PLAN: double-depth. Entrances in later flanking wings of
2-storeys; each wing of different date and style. Service
wings to rear at each side.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. 2 first-floor windows. Stucco detailing
includes simple square cornice and parapet to facade and bay
window to No.16.
No.15 (west), main house: 8/8 sash to first-floor, 4/8 to
second-floor, all in plain reveals with sills and rusticated
flat arches with projecting fluted keystones. Canted bay to
ground-floor under slated roof with 6/1:8/2:6/1 sashes.
Flanking wing: 2 first-floor windows, 8/1 and 6/1 sashes in
plain reveals and with stucco dressings to match main
elevation. 6-panel door with overlight set between abbreviated
canted bays, that to left has an 8/8 and a 6/6 sash, that to
right has 6/6 sash and 4-panel door with overlight; the whole
is contained under a lean-to ornamental-slate roof; an
elliptical timber arch on engaged columns spans between the
bays.
No.16 (east), main house: inelegant mid-C20 canted,
flat-roofed bay to first- and ground-floor with 4/4:6/6:4/4
sashes to each floor; 4/8 sash to second-floor as per No.15.
Flanking wing: 3 first-floor, 1 ground-floor window, all 1/1
sashes in plain reveals with sills and eared lintels.
Part-glazed panel door with plain fanlight, moulded
semi-circular arch over with projecting keystone, the whole on
corbels.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
