GV II

Detached house, now apartments. c1830, altered late C19 and late C20.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double pitched slate roof. Double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: Four window range (now with a three window canted bay to right-of-centre). Slightly-returned coped parapet, cornice, cornice band, and ground floor platband. Late C19 alterations include a two window gabled attic storey to right-of-centre over a shallow canted bay with similar mouldings to the main block and plate glass sash windows. A former first floor trellised balcony has been converted to two balconies suspended from the wall above the outer first floor windows (C19 or C20), now with C20 doors. The former basement (now ground floor) has an altered C19 five panel door in a plain opening to left-of-centre and a C20 door to the far left.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
Originally two storeys and basement (now the front garden has been lowered to form three storeys); this house has been much altered but retains group value with its neighbour. Consent was given in 1978 for the demolition behind the façade and the building of seven flats in place of the Georgian house (Bath City Council planning file).
