A multi-span bridge over a tributary of the River Frome, built in 1769 by Edward Weld and James Frampton.
MATERIALS
Brick with stone copings.
DESCRIPTION
The bridge is a brick-built structure with three segmental arches. The parapets are brick with stone copings.
This multi-span bridge is one of a group of three built by Edward Weld and James Frampton in 1769. The bridge was repaired and renovated in the 1970s.
Broomhill Bridge, built in 1769, is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Relative date: the bridge dates from the period before 1840, which makes it a good candidate for listing;
* Intactness: the bridge is little altered since completion.
