Description

Late 18th century. Rectangular plan walled garden with slip buttresses to angles. Coursed sandstone rubble wall with polished long and short quoins and flat coping to N; coursed red brick with flat coping to remainder. Lean to potting sheds to exterior of N wall; mid 19th century greenhouses to interior of N wall. Doorways to S, W, E and either side of potting sheds to N, with polished dressings and brick relieving arches; boarded timber doors.

Statement of Interest

The south wall of Vogrie walled garden was a "hot wall", with flues within the wall which heated the glasshouses.
