Thoms and Wilkie 1911 2-storey and attic gabled Arts and
Crafts house, random rubble-built with ashlar dressings.
S elevation asymmetrical 5-bay. Left bay recessed, 5-light
mullioned and transomed ground floor bow with small gargoyles,
4-light window over. Round arched chamfered doorway with iron
lamp in 2nd bay from left, bipartite and attic light over
in gablet with wallhead stack to left. 3rd and 4th bays
simple tripartites to ground and 1st floors. Corbelled
parapet. End bay 5-light bow similar to left bay, 4-light
1st floor and bipartite attic window within large gable.
1-storey E wing with bipartite and overhanging eaves.
W gable shallow projecting Inglenook stack with small
window.
E elevation: roofs swept to timber canopied courtyard,
ground floor triple light, bipartite piend-roofed dormer
over. Wallhead stack. Door and shuttered hatch to street
gable of E wing.
Rear: entrance flanked by single lights, later harled
flat-roofed dormer over. Advanced gabled bay with cross
stair window. Triple lights to left. Advanced W wing with
irregular arrangement of single light windows and gable
end stack. Overhanging eaves.
Stone-flagged roofs. Tall rubble-built stacks with dentil
cornices. Casement windows with leaded panes, sash and case
windows to rear wing. Original rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: timber panelling in hall and stair.
Rubble-built boundary walls coved to meet shouldered
pedestrian entrance. Gatepiers N of house now removed.
