Description

R Rowand Anderson, 1889. 2-storey and attic 3-bay rectangular-plan villa. Cream sandstone, coursed and square rubble front with polished dressings, squared and snecked rubble to rear and sides. Rounded reveals; moulded cill course at 1st floor; ashlar frieze and eaves cornice; ashlar mullions; tall shouldered and corniced wallhead stacks linked to steep roof.

W (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway at centre with part-fluted pedestaled pilasters with Ionic capitals, floral carving and entwined letters M and W to frieze, cornice, rectangular plate glass fanlight and panelled door single window at 1st floor above. Bay to left with 2-storey canted ashlar window with cornice, blocking course and half-ogee finialled roof. Bay to right with bipartite window at ground floor, single window at 1st floor.N AND S ELEVATIONS: 2 single windows to central bay, wallhead stack above, small rectangular dormer flanking.

To S single storey flat-roofed garage.

Timber sash and case windows, multi-pane upper sashes and 2-pane lower sashes. Steep green slate piend and platform roof, lead flashings; 2 wallhead stacks (see above), 1 wallhead stack to rear. Moulded eaves gutter and gutterheads.

INTERIOR: not seen 1992.

Low rubble wall to front with saddleback coping, later gates and railings.
