Canongate Church Cemetary, Edinburgh, Coachman's Stone.

Uploader's Comments

This interesting headstone dates from c1770 and marks the burial place of a number of members of the society of Coachdrivers of the Canongate. They ran the coaches between Edinburgh and London from White Horse Close further down the street. Note the horse and coach going over a bridge.
