Earlier 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay rectangular-plan villa. Cream stugged ashlar front with droved dressings, coursed pink rubble to rear and sides. Cill band course above ground floor; eaves cornice.
S (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway at centre, polished ashlar pilastered doorpiece with frieze, cornice and blocking course bearing tablet, panelled door and rectangular fanlight of 3 oval panes; single window at 1st floor above. Outer bays with single window to ground and 1st floor. N (REAR) ELEVATION: single windows to each bay and floor; central window at ground floor blocked. E AND W ELEVATIONS: blank with tall rendered wallhead stacks to centre. Small lean-to outhouse to E.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Piend roof with interlocking concrete tiles; 2 wallhead stacks (see above).
INTERIOR: not seen 1992.
BOUNDARY WALLS: tall rubble wall with flat coping to front, rear and sides and over pedestrian gateway, screen walls flanking front elevation.
A little altered example of a traditional type. The return of the correct roofing material, Scottish slate, would be appropriate.
