Description

Early 19th century with later alterations. Single storey with basement 4-bay house. Polished ashlar to ground floor, stugged ashlar to basement; brick with bull-face render facing to side elevations. Dividing band course; band course and blocking course at eaves level.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: irregularly disposed bays. 7 steps to deep-set panelled door to left central bay; 3-pane rectangular fanlight above. Windows to flanking bays at ground; door to right bay of basement, windows to remaining bays.

E (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen, 1994; extension to centre.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded slate roof. Rendered and coped stacks at gable ends.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1994.

BOUNDARY WALLS: stugged ashlar with coping, heightened later. Formerly with railings.

Although Wood's map is vague in its definition of the properties, it would appear to include this house and it certainly was built by 1856.
